Most men like the look of a flat cap long before they own one. What stops them is the worry that it'll sit too high and too wide, and turn into a mushroom on top of their head.
This one doesn't. The crown is cut close and low, so it lays down the way a cap is supposed to, and the brim runs short and clean. It's the shape you picture when you think of a flat cap, not the puffed-up version you find in a gift shop.
Inside, it's quilted with soft cotton. That's what gives it structure and holds the shape through a season, and it's what makes it warm enough to wear from October through February. This is a cold-weather cap. No mesh, no summer lining.
